A Tennessee manufacturer of metal forming tools and machinery announced its acquisition of a Pennsylvania company that produces roll forming equipment for the sheet metal forming sector.
Tennsmith said the addition of Roll Former Corporation marked a "natural extension and complement to" its own sheet metal forming equipment. The suburban Philadelphia company provides machinery for applications including metal roofing, garage door panels, sky lights, and swimming pool components.
“With this product line, our organization can provide one of the most comprehensive lines of forming equipment and solutions to the metal forming industry,” Tennsmith co-owner Mike Smith said in the announcement.
Roll Former will join Illinois-based sheet metal tool maker Roper Whitney as one of Tennsmith’s brands. The company’s product lines include automatic folders, cleat benders, hand brakes, notchers, rotary machines, shears, and slip rolls.
The deal closed on Aug. 19, company officials said. Financial terms were not disclosed.
